Yoga Love

I would love to write a book on how yoga can bring people together. This morning I read a great article for those interested in yoga and romance.

Here is an excerpt from the story.

At the same time, Bruce was impressed with Sunny’s “low key, simple existence.” As the couple’s money relationship melded, Bruce was molting out of his Cincinnati doctor identity and becoming a full-time yoga instructor and acupuncturist. Yoga practice allowed him to be still, to relax, to find something with soul and spirit within the body. As his transition happened, so did his relationship to money. “I left half my stuff in Cincinnati,” Bruce grinned. “Then I lost the other half in the divorce with my first wife. And the thing was, my material goods were diminishing, but my happiness was increasing.” He estimates that now he makes about a third of what he did as a doctor.

Yoga eases MS

ms.jpg

I always love reading new articles regarding yoga exercises easing different health conditions.

After reading this article I am planning on mapping out different conditions yoga has helped. If anyone wants to supply personal experience and quotes just send me an e-mail or leave a comment.

This article discusses Pat Krentzin,Yoga, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Here is a quote from the article:

“I am not an exercise person,” said Krentzin, who is in her 50s and lives in Farmington Hills. “I went one week and then I didn’t go the next week. I went again and missed the next few weeks, but now I would not miss a class.”

Doga - Yoga classes for your dog

Because we all love our pets, sometimes we do not believe they are stressing out. If we are stressed out and practice yoga, perhaps dogs need to do the same.

That is how Kristine Edwards feels when she is teaching her doga classes. Here is one of her quotes, “Some dogs aren’t as relaxed as you’d think, and most of them really enjoy it - they socialise with the other dogs in the class,” she says.

Yoga Injuries

newfaceofyoga.jpg

Is this the new face of modern yoga?  Kimberly Fowler started the Yoga for Athletes® program and she is determined to see yoga injury rates go down.

Here is one of her quotes:

“I started the Yoga for Athletes® program because people try to force themselves into a pose and end up injured, so they don’t like yoga,”

I read Yoga news everyday and a lot of the reports find more and more injuries are occurring.  Do you think she is the new face of modern yoga?

Green Yoga Studio

yogastudio11.jpg

What yoga does for the mind and soul, this thoughtfully-designed yoga studio does for its lucky green-minded inhabitants. Situated outside Washington DC in Clark County, Virginia, and designed by Carter + Burton Architecture, the small scale structure serves as a yoga studio and guest house for Annie and Paul Mahon’s main house 100 feet away. Despite its compact 600 square foot footprint, the studio packs in the best of the best of green technologies, from SIP-based construction to geothermal, passive solar, locally-sourced materials, green roof, and LED lighting. The clients’ and designers’ commitment to sustainability earned the project a LEED Gold certification when it was completed in 2007.
